In recent years, Longhua District has actively promoted the development of child-friendly construction projects, emphasizing the integration of care for children into the architectural design of various upcoming cultural, sports and scientific facilities.

These facilities include the district's upcoming new library, cultural hall, grand theater, and science museum, along with several public cultural and sports centers currently under construction in Guanlan and Dalang Subdistricts.

The Guanlan Sports Center, located in Dabuxiang Community, Guanlan Subdistrict, will serve as a multifunctional complex capable of hosting basketball, swimming, badminton, soccer, tennis, and other comprehensive sports events.

The architectural design of the center thoughtfully accommodates children’s needs through several key features, according to the project engineer. The staircase linking the first floor to the sunken plaza and swimming pool incorporates wide steps and dual handrails suited to children's height, while restrooms are equipped with child-appropriate sinks and toilets. Safety measures in the underground swimming area include a dedicated children’s pool with a depth of 0.6 meters and glass railings extended above handrails to prevent accidental falls. Additionally, the rooftop terrace features a small stage specifically designed for children’s performances, creating a dedicated and safe space for young users.

The Longhua Science Museum also exemplifies Longhua's commitment to creating child-friendly public facilities. The museum's annex building will feature exhibition halls and classrooms designed for children, along with a dome cinema and a rooftop biological garden.

Additionally, the main color scheme of the museum’s public spaces features bright yellow and blue. These vivid colors not only spark children's interest and creativity but also help reduce stress and anxiety while enhancing their focus.
